7 Band Antennas

dipoleBob Rive VE3HKY has cretaed 2 different 7-band antennas, the first was a 7-Band Semi Vertical Trap Antenna, and the latest, 7-Band Portable Dipole. I was introduced to his antennas when I attended the June meeting of LARC and he did a presentation on the 7-Band Portable Dipole. The video he showed that night is now available online.

Dietmar VE3CG and Dave VA3TD on tower

A similar picture to this one taken by Tim VE3VTH of White Pine Photography appeared in the St Thomas Times Journal today. Thanks to Tim for this picture and thanks to the Times Journal for covering this event – the raising of our tower for our 144, 220, and 440 repeaters.

Repeater Tower 2011

On a nice Friday morning (October 7, 2011), the tower used to support the repeater antennas at our repeater site was re-raised. The tower had been taken down earlier in the year and sent away to be re-zinced and following that it was re-painted.

Big thank you to Yarmouth Cranes for help and assistance in taking the tower down and then raising it again. Here are some photos I took that morning:
